Ten Years Gone
The debut issue of TWW may be less than a year old, but all of us writers, artists, editors, and contributors have been around for quite some time. The year 2000 was a pivotal year, one easier remembered than most. It started with the perceived threat of Y2K fading into miscalculated farce. The second farce of the year came along with the election of George Walker Bush. So we asked some friends, former and upcoming TWW contributors, and fellow writers to share their stories about what they were doing a mere decade ago.
Ten Years Gone was part of TWW’s Rx Reading Series, an evening of readings by local authors held at venues throughout the city, in association with the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival. Ten Years Gone readers took the stage at Center Portion, a not-for-profit community arts space in Logan Square.
The line-up for the night included Keith Buzzard, Sheila Donohue (Center Portion), Victor David Giron, Adam Jameson, Sondra Morin and Sean Shatto as Bobby Evers.
